Montreal - April 2 , 2020
In this difficult period linked to the Coronavirus, Info-Crime Montréal reminds the public that we remain operational and functional as always for citizens wishing to report a crime or to transmit information of all kinds on criminal activities or suspects wanted.
As with the start of the program founded in 1987, we make sure to offer the same quality of service and continue to process reports, by telephone or via our reporting form available on our website, anonymously and in complete confidentiality.
We also take this opportunity to remind all citizens to continue their exemplary collaboration to respect the security measures prescribed by the authorities in order to limit the spread of the COVID-19 disease. If you notice that some people do not respect the instructions issued and that this requires urgent and / or immediate intervention, we invite you to communicate directly with the SPVM by calling 911.
In addition, it is unfortunately important to note that in times of uncertainty as we are living in the moment many fraudsters take advantage of the situation to make victims, especially the isolated elderly. Whether by soliciting donations, selling specific products, requesting payments or personal information, fraudsters take advantage of citizens' fears to achieve their ends.
If you witness this kind of situation, you can communicate with us anonymously and confidentially. You can also contact the Canadian Anti-Fraud Center at 1 888 495-8501. If you are the unfortunate victim of fraud yourself, you will need to call 911 to report it.
